Happy Birthday to me!

Or my so called “Happy Earth Day Birthday.” Maybe that’s the reason why I love being on the outdoors and don’t like makeup. Probably.

Last night, I was thinking on how different I was exactly one year ago. It was one of the not so good nights and I spent it talking to my best friend and trying to keep it together. Definitely not one of my best memories.

Last night, I was devouring Good Omens for the second time, and I was in peace with myself. My life is nothing like I expected and I guess that’s somehow a good thing. Important reasons made me stay in Boston for far longer than I ever imagined, but it also gave me good friends, a couple of lovers and people who made me happy. It gave me time to be with myself and reflect on what I really wanted out of life and what is truly important in it. I also decided that in October (the latest), I’m moving out of Boston. It is now a priority. Either New York City or Los Angeles, or wherever I find a job first. Or if by October I haven’t found a job, well, I’m moving to NYC and I’ll figure it out from there.

Now, let’s enjoy the rest of my day with good friends, a beer or two (because I have work tomorrow) and movies.

Ps: So I finally made a twitter, so if you want to follow me, you’re more than welcome.

Around The World In 80 Films: The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty
Like a lot of movie fans, we’re pretty darn obsessed with movie locations. The planet is packed with fascinating places people have pointed cinema cameras at. Seriously. I swear I wrote this in another life.

I really do think this is the best way of living and I often feel alone in it because everyone else around me just want to settle down and be boring. I can’t do it. Having a full time job, a routine, a boring boyfriend, and knowing what I’m gonna do the entire week is slowly killing me. And I feel awful because I know friends that would love to be in my position and tell me how “lucky” (I don’t believe in luck. The definition of luck is “to work hard and never give up and finally doing that special thing you want to do”) I am I have all the things that I have.

But I don’t want things. I don’t want to settle and I don’t want to conform. I just want to live a life I will be proud of 40, 50 years from now. To tell whoever is around me that I have absolutely no regrets and that there’s nothing I would’ve done differently. And I want to do everything with a smile on my face (and a puppy by my side).

I’ve stayed in Boston for more than enough, and I want to leave, but the options are plenty, so I never know where I want to go next. It’s funny because just yesterday, I decided I was gonna stay here for another year until everything goes back to “normal” (I finish paying my equipment and get on with freelance and all that) but just as I was falling asleep, I got an email from a friend I haven’t seen in a couple months, with a link to a job in Los Angeles. And then I remembered the meaning behind my tattoo (tattoos in a couple days) and I saw it as a wake up call. Let’s see what the future holds for me.

Isn’t she so precious? This might be the only good picture I have of her, since she absolutely hates my camera, but I managed to camouflage it in between the plants, and I guess I looked pretty ridiculous because this was her face all along.
